Mike Lushington, retired high school teacher, sports enthusiast and coach (particularly in cross country skiing), snowshoer, birder, environmental activist, writer. Has been involved with the establishment of the Restigouche Estuary as an IBA (Important bird Area) because of the Black scoter migrations each spring. Currently publishing "Finding the Birds in Restigouche", a guide to the best birding places in the county. This outlines the occurrance of over two hundred species of birds in our area as well as an indication of the best places to find them.
