H.M.C.S. "Restigouche"

To the H.M.C.S. "Restigouche"
When you come now to our shore,
A new ship for our navy,
That was not here before.

You are a Canadian product,
Named for Canadian land,
A friendly greeting here for you,
With a good firm clasp of the hand.

You were built in a Canadian shipyard,
Made of Canadian steel,
Manned by Canadian seamen,
From the Commander's Bridge, to the keel.

The flag that you are flying,
Visions well in thought,
The history of our Nation,
And the freedom that it brought.

Your guardianship is endless,
Altho we are at peace.
It is the prayer of Canada,
That Nation's struggles cease.

Bit tp ,aomtaom tjat freedp,,
That we now enjoy,
We will be ever mindful of your service,
And the Seamen you employ.

And thus it is, and always will be,
This is a welcome here for you,
For we know the service called for,
And you will do it, too.

Now "Restigouche" comes to Restigouche,
Your guardianship, a "Must"!
We all want freedom in our land,
And in God's Grace, we trust.

G. Stuart Grimmer.
