On June 10 at the age of 93, Mrs. Christine Henderson of Charlo. Lived with Mrs. David Enderson (daughter in law). She was one of a family connected with the early history of Restigouche County, and one of its oldest and most respected citizens. Born at Blair Athol, Scotland, d/o Alexander and Christina McLean and came with the family to this country in 1852. Her mother's brothers, Peter and David Stewart, had settled in Dalhousie previously. Peter was the first representative to the Legislature from Restigouche, and in company of his cousin Donald Stewart, established the first mercantile and shipping business in the county, and David founded the first lumbering industry on the Miramichi. Other brothers visited New Brunswick, but returned to Scotland, and of these John was High Sheriff of Perth and Donald was secretary to the Duke of Athol. The late Peter McLean of Campbellton was brother of the deceased.
