Genealogy
Irene Doyle, an amateur genealogist for many years with countless resources at her fingertips covering Restigouche County. As one seems to go hand in hand, local history is also a hobby of hers. Irene is the creator and host of the Restigouche and Gloucester County GenWeb sites, very active with her own Family Genealogy and History site, and winner of Awards for the hard work she has put into them.

Irene also wrote a monthly Genealogy chronicle in the Campbellton French newspaper La Voix du Restigouche.

Campbellton's Family Album, Volume One, a book containing 130 old pictures, genealogy and history of some of the pioneer families of Campbellton and Campbellton's Family Album, Volume Two is also for sale in some stores in Campbellton and Dalhousie at the Museum or can be purchased directly from Irene.

Historical Bits and Pieces

By Irene Doyle

I will place some clippings from Old newspapers here which could either have some historical value, bring back memories or just be interesting. I also have quite a bit of history of the Restigouche, which take many forms and I will try to use them here. Such as Rev. J. C. Herdman's writings, the history of the Campbellton Telephone Company, etc...It is from learning about our past that we can better understand and accept the present.

Photography with Steve Methot

A native of Dalhousie, I have been involved with photography since nineteen seventy-seven and after a couple of years experimenting with different styles, I branched out into commercial work doing weddings and other types of photography. As time passed, I found myself drawn into the world of landscape, seascape and nature photography. Finding a measure of satisfaction and a more profound awareness of my surroundings, I now dedicate my time and my knowledge of photography to this fascinating enterprise.

I’m a member of the Chaleur Camera Club and also a member in good standing of the Restigouche Naturalist Club and I am also a contributing columnist for www.restigouche.net, our local website for the area. I use both film and digital media as a means to accomplish my photos and find that both have their own particular characteristics, some good, some not so good, but both are excellent tools for this craft.
